Wonder Woman is currently on its campaign to get that Oscar gold. While we’re hoping that someone takes home that gold statuette, we’re also looking forward to its sequel.
Hopefully, Brett Ratner will be cut out so we can keep Gal Gadot. While we’ve haven’t heard any news on that front, we are getting news about the film itself.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Wonder Woman 2 is being bumped up by a full six weeks for its release date. Rather than opening a week ahead of Star Wars: Episode IX, the film will open on November 1st, 2019. The original release date was December 13th, 2019.
Star Wars: Episode IX was moved from May 2019 (with Aladdin taking over the slot) to December 20th, 2019. So it looks like rather than having two huge films duking it out, they’ll be spaced out enough to enjoy box office time.
It’s not the first time Warner Brothers has done this. Originally, Batman v Superman was going up against Captain America: Civil War before it was moved up as well.
We can, however, suspect that the Episode IX and Wonder Woman 2 will be of much better quality than Batman v Superman. So it makes sense to space them out a bit more.
Either way, our butts will be in seats for both films. We are, however, going to give our best Amazonian roar come November 1st, 2019.
