Victor Garber To Exit Legends Of Tomorrow During Season Three

Say it isn’t so!

According to Deadline, Victor Garber, who plays Doctor Martin Stein and one-half of Firestorm, is going to exit Legends Of Tomorrow during season three. Garber has played Stein since 2014 when the character debut on The Flash with his first partner, Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). In 2015, the character met his new other-half in Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh).

Garber is exiting to take over David Hyde Pierce’s role as Horace Vandergelder in Hello, Dolly!  You can see both him and the legendary Bernadette Peters (taking over for the equally legendary Bette Midler) in the production come January.

As the crossover is currently filming, my best bet is that it’s probably the last we’re going to see of Stein. With his grandchild on the way, he probably wants family time. Of course, nearing retirement and/or having a loved one pregnant is also a character kiss of death. Sooo make of that what you will.

What the means for Jax’s character on Legends, we don’t know. Presumably, he’ll be part of a new iteration of Firestorm. Although what kind of iteration is currently up in the air. (There are just so many.)

Still, it’s going to be said to see Garber go. I always like Stein. Hopefully, his send-off will be written in a way that means we can see him again one day.

Until that day, let’s just wish him many happy returns on the Great White Way.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
