While this news seems like an inevitability, it is amazing to finally have the official confirmation.
Variety has reported that Patty Jenkins has officially signed on to direct Wonder Woman 2. Of course, as said before, this is something that seemed inevitable in the long run. Jenkins was talking the the press months ago about her plans for the sequel.
We all pretty much knew in our hearts and souls that it happened. (Maybe let her have Batgirl and Justice League 2. Just give her all of the movies, huh? All of them.)
On Wonder Woman 2, Jenkins made her opinion about sequels quite clear.
“It’s can’t be a replica or a continuation of the first. There’s another great story I want to tell. It is its own movie.”
Jenkins had also shared that she would love to bring in more of the classic Wonder Woman lore in the sequel. She had also hinted that it would also take place before the present day. Fans, meanwhile, would like Diana who is canonically bisexual to have a female love interest.
Needless to say, Jenkins official return has us ever so hyped to see the sequel to one of the greatest superhero films ever.
Wonder Woman 2 doesn’t have a release date.
