The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Orlando Is Adding A New Mystery Ride

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando is about to undergo another expansion to delight of Potterheads everywhere.

According to the park’s official blog, the Dragon Challenge ride will permanently close down on September 5th to make way for construction of this mystery attraction in the Hogsmeade section of the park.

The Dragon Challenge ride, for those who haven’t been, features two rollercoasters going at once (each representing a dragon) and draws inspiration from the First Task of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

This new thrill ride is described as “one of the most highly-themed coaster experiences we’ve created. It will combine a new level of storytelling with an action-packed adventure…and a few surprises along the way.”

Well colored this Potterhead interested! Although, admittedly, it is hard to figure out which narrative path that the ride could go down. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey combined elements of all the books. The Flight of the Hippogriff was geared toward Prisoner of Azkaban. Escape from Gringotts takes inspiration from The Deathly Hallows.

Entertainment Weekly made some guesses for either something involving the Shrieking Shack (fitting for a roller coaster) or something to do with the Forbidden Forest. My own personal guess would be that this mystery ride would connect more to the Fantastic Beasts franchise rather than Harry Potter proper.

But I’m just as in the dark as everyone else.
