Wonder Woman continues to dominate conversation and all aspects of life. Mainly because Wonder Woman is giving us life right now.
Of course with the film doing so well in theatres, the question remains: what about the sequel?
While Gal Gadot is signed on for more films, we’re really waiting to hear news about director Patty Jenkins returning. She wants to return, but Warner Brothers has given nothing in whether or not they will be having her back.
C’mon Warner Bros! Get on with it.
Jenkins, however, is using her time productively while fans await for official confirmation that she’s directing. With Geoff Johns, she is currently penning a treatment for Wonder Woman 2.
A treatment, for those not up to date with Hollywood lingo, refers to a document (normally 6 to 10 pages) that outlines the major plot points of a movie.
In an interview with Variety, Johns talked a little about working with Jenkins.
“The goal is to make another great Wonder Woman film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one.”
Johns fingerprints are all over the aspects of DC from the comics to TV to the films. He did a first draft of the upcoming solo Batman flick and the newest Green Lantern movie.
But what about the film itself? Well Warner Bros chief Toby Emmerich also talked with Variety about the highly anticipated sequel.
It’s not very helpful though in pinpointing things.
“It will take place somewhere between 1917 and 2017.”
Personally, I would love a 70s set Wonder Woman film. Much like how Captain America: The First Avenger was a homage to that era for the good Captain, I think that the 70s could be a great homage for the first live action Wonder Woman series.
But that’s just me.
