Fox Renewals/Cancellations: Gotham Gets Another Season But Sleepy Hollow Loses Its Head

The FOX TV gods have spoken and the news is half good and half bad as far as next year’s TV season goes. Just like the other Big 5 networks, FOX is shaking things up this week by handing out renewals to some and giving the pink slip to others.

The bad news officially started for the network last week when it axed the baseball drama Pitch after one season. Sadly, that wasn’t the end of the bad news. Earlier this week, the network also confirmed that both Sleepy Hollow and Rosewood are not returning.

Sleepy Hollow ,the supernatural drama, led by Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie back in Season 1, had been a huge hit but has steadily declined in viewership since season 3, when Beharie exited the show. Season 4 was supposed to be a reboot of sorts for the series but it failed to get any traction.

As for Rosewood, like Sleepy Hollow, did quite well during its first season, being the lead in for Empire. It was moved to Fridays unfortunately for this second season and unfortunately will not be returning for a third.

As for the good news, DC Comic fans will get to stick around in Gotham for another season. The drama snagged a fourth season renewal late Tuesday night along with the comedy The Last Man on Earth.

There are still several shows on the FOX lineup still waiting to hear about their fates; FOX has yet to renew many of its comedies and several of its dramas.
