It’s become a bit of a new badge of honour, reading bedtime stories on CBeebies. We’ve had James McAvoy, Rosamund Pike, Damian Lewis and who could forget Tom Hardy and his dog Woodstock reading Tom McLaughlin’s book The Cloudspotter?!
Chris Evans is the latest Hollywood star to sit down and read the kids, and probably the mummies, a bedtime story!
Evans will be seen on the CBeebies on Wednesday 10th May, airing in the 6:50pm timeslot.
Of his appearance on the now hugely popular segment, Evans said, “I’m honoured to be the next guest on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, which is such a special show,” adding, “I hope families have as much fun watching as I had reading!”
The book Evans is reading is the appropriately titled Even Superheroes Have Bad Days by Shelly Becker and Eda Kaban. It’s a story about fun ideas to help little people cope when they’re feeling overwhelmed. Of this book the BBC said, “All children have trouble getting a grip on their emotions, sometimes even young superheroes. Chris tells the tale of how they can channel their energies.” Certainly made even more special coming from Captain America himself!”
The segment has had some amazing hosts reading some great stories. David Tennant read How High is The Sky? by Anna Milbourne. Simon Pegg read Stanley’s Stick by John Hegley and even The Hoff got in on the action reading Jack’s Tractor by Thomas Taylor
However for the bigger people, Evans will next be on screen in the movie Gifted, alongside Jenny Slate. Then of course, the role that made his name where he picks up Captain America’s shield for Avengers: Infinity War.
