Just as one superhero decides to hang up his hood (spoiler alert if you aren’t all caught up on the latest episode of Arrow), another seems to emerge from thin air.
Earlier this month at Paleyfest LA, Arrow’s Marc Guggenheim teased that there would be a big surprise for fans of the Arrowverse in the penultimate episode Legends of Tomorrow.
“I will call it a surprise crossover. No one knows this because we’ve kept it under wraps, but there’s a surprise cameo, surprise crossover moment,” the showrunner told Deadline.
Just last night Guggenheim shared two images of concept art for next week’s Legends episode “Doomworld” on Twitter and they might as well have broken the internet. He left them uncommented, knowing any kind of caption would have been unnecessary. Take a look for yourself below:

Felicity Smoak is getting a mask. This is not a drill.
It may not be in the way that many fans have wanted her to, but everyone’s favorite genius is suiting up and we don’t doubt she is ready to kick ass. In the concept art, Felicity is donning a purple ensemble reminiscent of a tamer version of The Huntress, including a pretty awesome mask.
But who is this version of Felicity Smoak? Is she friend or foe?
The official synopsis for “Doomworld” reveals more about the upcoming episode:
BETRAYALS – After obtaining the Spear of Destiny, the Legion of Doom rewrites reality, leaving the Legends changed, perhaps forever. Frightfully, the Legends’ and the world’s hope rests with Rory (Dominic Purcell), but being the “hero” is not easy for him. Meanwhile, there is tension within the Legion of Doom and the reason why the Spear of Destiny needs to be destroyed is revealed.
With a rewritten reality, everything is possible. Would you rather see Felicity fight side by side with Team Arrow, or would you want to see her terrorizing cities as a cold-hearted villain?
Either way, we are excited to see what Emily Bett Rickards brings to this version of Felicity. While getting to see your favorite tech-whiz suit up and take names is really cool, we all know Miss Smoak doesn’t need a mask to matter in this world. She has long since established herself as a superhero of her own.
