Get ready to jump on your feet and dance! After weeks of anticipation regarding the big Supergirl/Flash crossover musical episode, we were finally graced with a little teaser about what to expect.
When it was first announced that two of our favorite superhero shows would do a big musical extravaganza, we were thrilled. When it was announced, that Darren Criss would join in as the villain of the night (aka the reason for all the dancing), we wept a little. And when it was announced that the talent behind La La Land and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend respectively would be involved, we knew this would be a night we will never forget.
The synopsis for the episode titled “Duet”, reads like every comic book fan’s dream: “Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can’t cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end.”
Now, without further ado, take a look at your first promo for “Duet”:
Unfortunately, we do not get to hear anyone sing just yet, but we do get to see them dance. Barry and Kara are dressed to the nines with a plethora of glitter and glam. Apart from Benoist and Gustin, it was reported that more members of the combined cast will showcase their vocal talents, such as Jesse L. Martin, Carlos Valdes, Jeremy Jordan, Victor Garber and John Barrowman.
What else could we want?
In addition to the promo Entertainment Weekly just released a couple of episode stills. And oh my, does everyone look good. The CW at its finest. Do take a look below and feast your eyes on the combined beauty of our heroes.
