iZombie Star Rahul Kohli To Play A Possible Villain On Supergirl

Supergirl definitely has an insane amount of villains on the show from aliens to metas to secret organizations to just plain old humans. The variety is simply enormous and allows for some great talent.

Then there are those characters who may or may not turn to be evil. We had Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) in season one. (And who knows if we would have seen Superwoman?) We have Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) this season. She does seem on the side of the angels, but her agenda is her own ultimately.

Now we have a one-off who may or may not be embracing his comic counterparts villainous nature: Jack Spheer. In the comics, the inventor’s invention mutated him into the villain Biomax (who could mind control people).

Spheer will make his debut in the upcoming episode “Ace Reporter”. Entertainment Weekly has reported that Rahul Kohli, who plays Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti on iZombie, will tackle the part.

Honestly, why don’t we see more crossover like this on the CW shows? That would be a lot of fun.

Kohli is super excited to guest star on the show.

“I’m so excited to be working on Supergirl starring as Jack Spheer. It’s given me the chance to continue my relationship with The CW as well as fulfill my goal of meeting a Kryptonian.”

In a recent interview with EWSupergirl EP Andrew Kreisberg talked about “Ace Reporter”.

“That’s actually been very important to us, especially in the times we now find ourselves living in; we’re one of the few shows on television that actually has a journalist as a lead character. We really get a chance to talk about the importance of journalism, and the importance of journalism ethics, and how important [it is to have] the objective truth be out there now.”

I agree with everything Kreisberg says here. I just wish that Kara (Melissa Benoist) was better at being a journalist. From the instances we’ve seen at it, she’s making mistakes. Like the ones that are stamped out of you when you major in Journalism kind of mistakes. It’s just been a storyline that hasn’t been working for me. Honestly? It feels like they’re copying Superman here. I mean she could do different things like a series of Aliens in National City sharing their stories or do a podcast or be a food critic.

Who knows? Maybe I’ll be wowed with “Ace Reporter”, but I’m not holding my breath.
