Sissy That Walk: Meet The New Drag Queens For RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9

Credit: Logo TV

Start your engines as the wait for the new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is almost over. The ninth season, which will premiere in the spring, will bring fans thirteen brand new queens, including the oldest queen to date, and the first transatlantic contestant.

The show, which has gained a cult following, has definitely brought drag queens to a more mainstream audience with previous winners such as Bianca Del Rio starring in Hurricane Bianca which is now available on Netflix.

The new queens, who will be hoping for a portion of this success, are certainly an interesting mixture of the different types of queens out there: there are comedy queens, and the classic beauty queens, and for the first time there is an out and proud transgender queen.

The full line-up of contestants are: Aja who hails from Brooklyn, Alexis Michelle from New York, Charlie Hides who splits her time between Boston MA and the UK, Tennessee’s Eureka, Farrah Moan from Las Vegas, Jaymes Mansfield from Milwaukee, Kimora Blac from Las Vegas, Nina Bo’Nina Brown from Georgia, Peppermint from New York, Brooklyn’s Sasha Velour, Shea Couleé from Chicago, Trinity Taylor from Orlando who is a former Miss Pulse, and last but not least Valentina from Echo Park California.

It has also been announced that the first star guest of the season will be Lady Gaga who will be appearing in the opening episode. I can’t wait to see the reactions of the contestants when Mother Monster descends the stairs.

Check out the new contestants below and we would love to hear who your favourite is (mine is Charlie Hides, UK represent).
