There’s a slew of new pictures following the release of the Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer this week, and while we hope in true Gunn/Marvel style it’s not giving away too much of this hugely anticipated film, it is exciting to see the Guardians and new characters in moments that leave us all speculating as to what is going on.
The first pic is Peter Quill and Drax looking like they mean business … although with Drax being the dead-pan literal kind of guy, it’s a bit hard to tell. Although one has to wonder what’s in that bag over Star Lord’s shoulder.
We see the irrepressible Rocket through a hole in something. Are we looking at him from Baby Groot’s angle?
Next up a shot of Gamora, with her steely-eyed look that almost says she (once again) cannot believe the stupidity of what she is hearing from her team. This is followed by a shot of Star-Lord at either the entrance or exit to something.
Then it’s Baby Groot, who is looking to steal the show just like the last film! The next pic is something very very new with Yondu in Guardians garb – is he gonna bring up stopping the ravagers from eating Peter again – striding along with Rocket and Baby Groot perched on his shoulder. But my favourite thing is all the other bodies floating or flying around them.
Next up is the peeved off looking Nebula. Karen Gillian really has her killer expression down pat. You have to forgive Nebula, she really has Daddy issues. And last up from the movie stills is the new character of Mantis, her wide-eyed all seeing expression is really very cute.
The last two images show concept art, the first with all the character against a backdrop of explosions – of course. They are pretty good at blowing shit up these guys. All in the name of saving the Galaxy of course!
The other is of Star-Lord and Drax pitted against an alien creature with lots of tentacles and teeth.
The full synopsis of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tells us:
