Sterling K Brown had something that not many folks could say about 2016: a good one.
With his Emmy-award winning performance in American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson and the smash hit This Is US, Brown has become a true talent to watch. I honestly think the guy deserves all the success and more that he’s getting.
Like most actors who are shot into stardom, Brown is planning to capitalize on it. The movie that he’s signed up for? It’s a big one.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Brown has joined the cast of Marvel’s Black Panther.
Brown will be playing N’Jobu, who is a figure from T’Challa’s (Chadwick Boseman) past. This tells us…nothing.
Brown joins an amazingly star-studded cast. In addition to Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, and Danai Gurira, have also joined the film. Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) is set to direct the Marvel hit.
The titular character wowed audiences and critics alike in Captain America: Civil War. Now all we need to do is wait another year to see Wakanda and Black Panther on the big screen again. (Which will be forever.)
Brown took to Twitter to share his excitement.
Black Panther hits theatres on February 16, 2018. This Is Us airs Tuesdays on NBC at 9/8c.
