Is He Or Isn’t He In? Dr Strange Now Is To Appear In Thor: Ragnarok

The appearance of Dr Strange in the next installment of Thor has been in the rumour mill since we saw an on-set picture of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor holding a card listing the address 177A Bleecker Street.

Coupled with the Dr Strange end-credit scene the momentum built and now we have it on good authority that we will indeed get to experience Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr Strange in Thor: Ragnarok. In the end scene, we saw Thor visit the Sanctum Sanctorum (which, in case you are interested, translates from Latin to “Holy of Holies”). Dr Strange tells Thor that he has his eye on Loki who has landed in New York. Thor explains they are looking for Odin and as soon as he is located, promises Strange they will all return to Asgard.

It is rumoured that Taika Waititi – Ragnarok‘s director – also directed the scene.

Thor: Ragnarok was shot last year on the streets of Brisbane, which was transformed into New York city for a week. The news and on set photos showed that while Thor was dressed casually, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki looked sleek and well tailored.

More on set photos revealed Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins, looked lost and possibly a homeless man.

As well as Hemsworth, Hiddleston and Hopkins, the film will also star Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Cate Blanchett as the Hela, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Karl Urban as Skurge.

That’s just the cast we know about, because after all, this IS Marvel. All the films dovetail in to one another in some way, shape or form so we wait with baited breath to see who else appears and from which film. Personally I am hoping to see some sort of link between this and Guardians of The Galaxy because that would bring Infinity Wars into the mix too. Perhaps that will be in the mid and end credit scenes for which Marvel have become renowned for.

Thor: Ragnarok opens in cinemas on November 3rd this year.
