I am one of millions of people around the globe who collect the Funko Pop Vinyls. The squat and adorable little characters that come in hundreds and thousands of characters from your favourite fandoms. It’s my not-so-guilty pleasure. However, someone is going to have to tell my poor husband that his request to stop buying them has been denied, especially with the latest news that for Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2, a whole new set has been released.
Currently there are 12 new releases for the upcoming movie.
There is our favourites of Star-Lord, Groot and Rocket and all of these come in a couple of different variations. Star-Lord comes with mask on and double guns, mask off and single gun, and mask on and a breast plate on him with a single gun. Rocket comes in two variations: a ground based pose and then one with him taking off. Baby Groot, a huge fan favourite in every area of merchandise for the franchise, comes in a leaf covered version and another in his Guardians suit holding what we can assume is a shield of some kind. He also comes in a plain Guardians suit.
As well as Star-Lord, Rocket and Baby Groot, we also have Gamora suited up holding a weapon. Alongside her is Nebula in what appears to be a similar suit to the red ones the Guardians wear… hmmm is that a clue as to what’s going to happen? Drax is also in the collection holding a weapon.
New characters Mantis and Taserface make up the rest of the first release of the collection.
There is also a range of the characters in keyrings, bobbleheads, pint sized heroes, plushies and Dorbz.
The Funko’s will be available as of February.
Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in cinemas in the UK and Australia on April 28 and in the USA on May 5.
