Thor: Ragnarok has finally had it’s synopsis revealed!

The latest Marvel movie, which stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, will feature a team-up with Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. From the way things sound, it’s going to be a helluva a ride!

The synopsis unveiled by Marvel reads as follows:

“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”

So while that is all very exciting, it still makes you wonder how the on-set photos that we’ve already seen of Thor and Loki in New York City tie in, the photos of Odin looking like a homeless man and that whole scene from Doctor Strange.  Clearly Thor is going to have to achieve many things if he is to save Asgard from Ragnarok.

Other questions that Marvel fans discuss are where does Valkyrie fit in to all this?  We saw the character played by Tessa Thompson in the on set photos from Brisbane as well in a sneaky little video that director Taika Waititi did from on set.

The studio also released a photo of Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi on set (see above). Apart from it looking like Waititi is giving dance lessons? There’s not much to go on there.

Thor: Ragnarok also stars Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Elba, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum  and Karl Urban.

It opens in cinemas in the UK and Australia on October 27th and in the USA November 3rd.
