Krypton is a project that I’m simultaneously am interested in, but not.

I think it would be super cool to a see a prequel series focused on the famously doomed planet. Outside of Superman and Supergirl, we usually see the not nice Kryptonians for the most part. I’d like to see how the world worked and functioned. I think it would be an interesting bit of media.

I’m excited to see what Syfy is going to bring to the table.

Much like how I like the idea of Gotham, even if I’m not a huge fan of the show itself.

At the same time, however, David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman) is attached for it. I think he’s the one who developed it. And I’m not a huge fan of his writing style…

So yeah, the project has its pros and cons for me.

Recently, however, they have started casting for the various roles in the pilot.

They cast the lovely Georgina Campbell (One Night) as Lyta Zod, who is a secret affair with the lower caste Seg-El. She is reluctant soldier in the Kryptonian military.

Today, the pilot had found its male lead. According to Entertainment WeeklyBritish actor Cameron Cuffe has been cast as Seg-El in the pilot.

Due to mysterious circumstances (to us), the House of El has been disgraced and stripped of its former glory. The technologically talented Seg-El must work to restore his family’s honor.

Cuffe has previously appeared in Florence Foster Jenkins.

There has been no release date for Krypton.
