If you haven’t read Ransom Riggs’ bestselling Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children series, now would a great time to start, as a brand new trilogy is in the works!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, publisher Dutton Books for Young Readers has announced a new three-book arc that will continue the adventures of Jacob Portman, Miss Peregrine and the rest of the peculiar gang in America. Expect the as-yet untitled first installment to land in Fall 2017.

“The first three novels introduced the peculiars and their world,” said Riggs in a statement. “But peculiardom is vast, its history is long, and there’s so much left to discover. I can’t wait to delve deeper, and to bring the story to America — which, as it turns out, is a much more peculiar place than anyone realized!”

Is that even possible?!

Editor Julie Strauss-Gabel said: “Stepping into the peculiar world has been a true gift to me and to millions of readers. I am overjoyed to continue this amazing adventure and discover the many peculiar stories that await Jacob and his friends. I can imagine no better tour guide through America than Ransom Riggs, whose transporting imagination and enormous heart have made so many so proud to be peculiar.”

Brought to the screen by the filmmaker Tim Burton, and starring Eva Green as the titular headmistress, the movie adaptation of the first book in the existing trilogy flew to the top of the overseas box office.

It didn’t do too shabbily in the US either,  and there’s still plenty of cinematic potential with the two remaining chapters in the first trilogy, Hollow City and Library of Souls.

There’s no word yet on whether the movie, with its reported $110 million budget, will get a sequel, but at least fans of the peculiar world have the new book series to look forward to!
