We saw a lot of amazing things coming out of NYCC this week. Most of them, to our delight, are Netflix properties.

It’s always good to know when and what we’re going to binge.

As a fan of animation and Guillermo del Toro, I was delighted by the news about his animated series Trollhunters. This project has been eight years in the making from the directing great. It has taken form of books, live action and now television.

During the panel for the show at NYCC, the first trailer for show dropped.

And I have to admit. It looks amazing. Of course, what else do you expect?

I’m so happy to hear Kelsey Grammer. I’m so excited for this show which looks bizarrely adorable and badass at the same time.

This does take on a bit of sadness, however, as the lead character is voiced by the late Anton Yelchin. Currently, there is no plan what to do if the show is renewed for a second season.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, del Toro talked about Yelchin’s passing.

He said: “We went through great pains to ensure that his voice is preserved for the series. He was so passionate about it, and he had so much fun doing this.”

I’m glad that one of Yelchin’s final performances is on a project that he really enjoyed and had a lot of fun on. It certainly sounds like it in the trailer.

Rounding out the cast, outside of Yelchin and Grammer, are Ron Perlman, Jonathan Hyde, Lexi Medrano, Amy Landecker, Fred Tatasciore, and Steven Yeun.

The show will drop on Netflix on December 23rd, 2016.
