Can We Expect The Batman? Supergirl EP Addresses The Reference To Gotham City

Supergirl returns next Monday, and we couldn’t be more excited!

After swapping networks, getting new characters, and changing locations, the Girl of Steel is ready to conquer our screens. People have been saying a-maz-ing things about Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman, which fills my fangirl heart with joy.

What makes me even happier is to see the return of Kara (Melissa Benoist), Alex (Chyler), J’onn (David Harewood), James (Mehcad Brooks), and Winn (Jeremy Jordan). I have missed them all so freaking much. According to these early reviews, these actors are not missing a beat with this new move.

A question does remain, however, is how big is Supergirl’s Earth on this planet. While there is no Barry Allen in Central City on this Earth, I do have to wonder if there are more superheroes than the Man and Girl of Steel running around.

In a bit of a throwaway joke in a promo released last week, a man told his kids that they were “moving back to Gotham”.

Are we going to be seeing Gotham? Will we get the Legends of Superflarrow version of the Dark Knight?

Executive producer Ali Adler had this to say to TVLine: “I feel like we have our hands full with the crossover we’re shooting right now. I think people will be satisfied with how much crossover they’re getting this season.”

This crossover features the alien forces known as the Dominators trying to take over the (multiverse?) in a four-night special event that will also feature Arrow‘s 100th episode.

So, unfortunately, it sounds like Gotham is staying on Fox.

Supergirl returns Monday, October 10th at 8/7c on the CW.
