Stranger Things
– Eleven

If you’re planning to dress up as one of the Stranger Things girls, you will most definitely not be alone this year. Why? They are easy, cheap and quick to get. For Eleven’ iconic “girly” ensemble all you’ll need is a pink dress (almost any A-line dress will do, but we would suggest a pink peter-pan-collar dress), a navy/blue bomber jacket or rain coat, long socks and a pair of white Converse. If you’re willing to spend a little more you can even go ahead and purchase a kickass replica of the dress on Etsy! Get yourself a cheap blonde wig, some fake blood and a box of waffles and you’re ready to go!

Stranger Things – Barb
Equally as popular and equally as easy is impersonating the quirky Barb. Get yourself a pair of extra-high-waist mom jeans, a plaid shirt (preferably along the colors red, yellow and green) with just the right amount of ruffle and a red/orange short-haired wig. Put the most detail to the pair of glasses you want to rock (for example these or these), because they are Barb’s signature accessory.

Suicide Squad – Harley Quinn
The number of Harley’s you will encounter this Halloween is going to be uber-galactic. And there’s a good reason for that. Not only is Harley one of the most beloved comic characters of all times, but Margot Robbie’s outfit is pretty damn amazing. It is also really, really easy to get. Almost every major costume shop should be carrying the “Daddy’s Lil Monster” t-shirt and the red/blue bomber/panties combo. Jump into fishnet tights and add a studded belt and a “Puddin” choker. As for Harley’s blonde tip-dyed hair, get one of the (surprisingly affordable) wigs. Don’t forget to grab a baseball bat before leaving the house!

DC Comics – Wonder Woman
Being Wonder Woman for Halloween is by far not an original choice. But it is also the 75th anniversary of the Amazon and dressing up in red and blue has never been more appropriate. Who wouldn’t want to be the most powerful woman in the world? You can find a plethora of different Wonder Woman costumes online, just make up your mind which direction you would like to go.  Add a brunette wig or style your own hair accordingly, add a couple of accessories such as Diana’s tiara and golden lasso of truth and you’re ready to take over the planet.

Clueless – Cher Horowitz
The 90s are more in style than ever (probably even more than in the actual 90s) so it will be incredibly easy to find something appropriate. Whether you want to dress up in Cher’s yellow/white blazer and skirt combo, her red dress (which comes with a 90s cell phone!) or just want to rock the t-shirt-under-cami-dress look, your options are unlimited. Chains like H&M and Forever21 have your back.

Scream Queens – Chanel Oberlin
Speaking of dramatic teenagers. Did you ever want to be a Chanel? This Halloween you can dress up (quite literally) like the best of them. To transform yourself into the original Chanel, you’ll need a pink faux-fur coat, a white blouse with a bow detail and a black and white houndstooth skirt. Add shades, a tiny pink handbag and a nice pink lipstick to complete the outfit. It’s almost too easy.

Arrow – Felicity Smoak
Do you ever wonder “What Would Felicity Smoak do?” Dress up as the Green Arrow’s fiercely loyal tech-whiz and confidante while simultaneously upgrading your own wardrobe. To turn into the blonde genius all you need is a pretty dress and a blonde ponytail-clip in or any blonde wig. The closest match you’ll get with any French Connection dress (for example this exact match of Felicity’s iconic season 3 cut-out dress) or BCBG Max Azria dress (like this exact match of the golden dress she wore in the season 1 episode “The Dodger”). However, you can go a cheaper route and get look-a-like dress. Grab a Felicity Smoak QC badge and a pair of two-tone glasses and you’re all set.

Deadpool – Deadpool
Who ever said that costumes were gender exclusive? Want to dress up as a cursing and killing bad-guy-turned-superhero for Halloween? Go for it! Squeeze yourself into a skin-tight red spandex costume and steal the show as this year’s most-watched super hero!

Star Wars – Rey
Aside from Harley Quinn, Rey was possibly the most cosplayed character at San Diego Comic Con this year and is easily one of the most popular Halloween costume choices in 2016 as well. If you want to go with an authentic replica of the original outfit, you will have to pay a pretty penny, but there are also cheaper versions available that look almost as good. However, if you’re a somewhat talented tailor yourself, it can be done DIY-style. If you have brown hair, follow a quick tutorial on how to style it; if not, consider buying a wig. To round up the outfit get Rey’s kickass staff.

Ghostbusters
The easiest and possibly most comfortable costume choice this year is dressing up as the Ghostbuster ladies! (It’s a jumpsuit after all, which is pretty great until you find yourself having to use the restroom). You can either purchase a full costume online or put it together yourself by adding a couple of details to a plain khaki-colored jumper. A must have is of course a backpack fit to hunt down ghosts!
