We know we’re not alone in the excitement for the sequel to last year’s comic-book live action film Kingsman: Secret Service. Yes folks, that was the adaptation of the comic book, The Secret Service, created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar.
Taron Egerton, who stars as the lead character Egsy, has now revealed that the sequel is “going to be incredible.”
Currently doing the round of press at the Toronto International Film Festival for his animated film Sing, in which he voices a gorilla, Egerton also teased about the new movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
He told EW , “Doing Kingsman is such hard work. It’s so physical and demanding. It’s brilliant and you don’t resent a moment of it because I believe [director] Matthew Vaughn is an incredible director and I have every faith it’s going to be a great movie.”
He went on to add, “It’s so challenging. Luckily, you’re surrounded by an incredible team. The best stuntmen in the world. The cast is incredible. The cast in the sequel is … it’s insanity who I’ve acted opposite in the past six months. It was tough, but it’s going to be incredible.”
Kingsman: The Golden Circle not only sees the return of Egerton but original cast Mark Strong and Colin Firth. If you’ve seen it, you’ll be wondering how on earth that’s going to happen. If you haven’t seen it, what are you waiting for? As well as some of the original cast, the movie will also star Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, and… Sir Elton John!
Kingsman: Secret Service was a sleeper hit at the box office last year, grossing $414 million worldwide.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is out June 16, 2017.
