With 2016 winding down, we’re hoping that the film year will close strong.
Amongst these films stands Moana, which seems to have everyone excited.
And you should be excited for the film!
With a script helped written by Taika Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows), directors Ron Clements and Jon Musker at the helm, music from Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancia, and starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho, the film should be getting a lot of love from everyone.
Seriously, the water alone in this film looks so crisp and lovely that I just want to dive into it.
Over the past few months, we’ve been seeing little bits and bobs of trailers. Nothing, however, that really gave us the idea of the film. Today, however, the first long official trailer of the film was released.
While not telling the audience everything, we definitely have a better idea of what’s going down.
Check it out below.
We definitely learned a lot!
So there’s a “great evil” coming in the form of a lava person (?), Moana has to journey to find the demigod, Maui, to get help in defeating it. Armed with her canoe, a chicken and a mystical connection to the ocean, she and Maui have to journey to this place together to save Moana’s people.
And hijinks ensue.
It looks pretty awesome. There’s just so much going and Moana herself looks ready to kick some major butt.
Just bring it on! I am ready to see this movie!
Moana comes out November 23rd, 2016.
