Captain America: Civil War Gets The Honest Trailers Treatment And No Punches Were Pulled

Is a movie really a movie if it doesn’t get the Honest Trailers treatment?

Yes. It is. But it’s not as fun as making fun of films with a traditional narrator style voice poking fun at all the craziness in the movie.

And while I, personally, feel like Captain America: Civil War was the better of the two superhero battle films. It’s not a perfect movie. Much like Batman v Superman, this film has a very complicated plan that hinges on a lot of coincidences and perfect timing from the villain.

Like an insane amount.

The best film still goes to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. (If you’re wondering that is.)

So what did Screen Junkies have to say about it?

Unsurprisingly, it was a lot.

Pointing out the hero fighting hero parts of both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, the voice points out that this happens when “your villains kind of suck”.

Which is true. Superhero films in general have a major villain problem. Like they’re just so bad.

Much like the film, Honest Trailers points out that both sides make good points. Like regulatory oversight is not a bad thing. On the other hand, the Avengers save the world and it is the aliens/HYDRA/etc that start this stuff.

I won’t give away all the jokes, but they get brutal in the humor. Like the fact that is was more of Civil Disagreement than an out and out War. And that things are still good at the end, for the most part, between Cap and Tony.

Okay I need to stop spoiling this whole thing for you all.
