Hello, Blacklist fans! It’s been a while. NBC’s hit drama aired its third season finale in May, and, just as with every episode, fans were shocked, appalled, and confused. Raymond Reddington, Elizabeth Keen, and company have consistently kept fans guessing since the pilot, and the finale was on par with that theme.
The show’s official Facebook page has come back to life, and has been posting sneak peeks for the upcoming season, and it looks like nothing has changed! While we may get some answers along the way, season four promises just as much action, drama, and questions as the previous three.
The following clip was posted along with the caption, “Bad guys always finish first. Prepare for a shocking Season 4 premiere on September 22.”
You can watch the video here.
In a world where there are more “bad guys” than “good guys,” which bad guy will finish first? I think we all know the answer to that, and the answer is Reddington. Every. Single. Time.
The clip above gives a great recap of season three.
In case you forgot, we witnessed all of the following in 22 short episodes. Liz and Red were fugitives. Liz got caught and then un-caught. Ressler and Samar slept together, leading to some seriously tense moments in the workplace. Tom Keen came back. Liz and Tom made a baby. The Keens’ wedding got shot up and turned into a literal church massacre. Liz went into labor, delivered a beautiful baby girl, and gave her one of the top five worst names in TV baby history. Liz died. Then Liz came back to life. We met Katarina Rostova in a very vivid drunken flashback. Mr. Kaplan betrayed Red. Tom and Liz ran away with each other and Agnes, in order to live a life free of Raymond Reddington and the drama and danger that follow him.
Then, the unthinkable happened. Yes, Liz was taken by Alexander Kirk, but that’s not what I’m referring to. Kirk revealed himself as Liz’s father. I am not 100% convinced Red is not Liz’s father, but that’s for another day.
Apparently that small detail does not matter to Reddington, because this kick-butt sneak peek shows us exactly what we all wanted to see! Red and Dembe coming to Liz’s rescue. It looks like we just may see the dynamic duo of Liz and Red team up again this season. While it seemed that Liz had mostly sworn off Reddington and any help he offered, she may not have a choice coming up.
I am confident we will see the dynamic we have come to know and love. I also look forward to seeing how their relationship shifts and changes after the birth of Agnes, and the revelation of Liz’s father. What I am most certain of, is that we will probably only have half a clue what is going on – which is all part of the draw! – and every answer will bring five more questions.
What are you most looking forward to seeing in season four? Any characters you can’t wait to revisit? Comment below!
