One of the wonderful things about Disney being in charge of the new Star Wars trilogy and spin-offs is that Mickey and company won’t leave us hanging for years in-between episodes.

After Star Wars: The Force Awakens and before Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, the first of the Anthology films will be released: Rogue One, or Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Let us not forget that the Anthology films are not part of the saga per se – that is, they are not “episodes”, but instead they will tell the stories that happen in-between Star Wars episodes.

Rogue One is set between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope, following a band of Rebel fighters who come to together to carry out a dangerous but extremely important mission: steal the plans for the Death Star. We’ll see how that goes.

The first teaser introduced us to Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), the chosen one for this mission, and gave us quick glimpses at other characters such as (my potential new galactic boyfriend) Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna, my precious), an accomplished Rebel Alliance Intelligence Officer; Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), who we have previously seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars; and baddie Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), an Imperial Military Director obsessed with the completion of the Death Star project.

So what does this new trailer bring to our Star Wars appreciation life?

EVERYTHING.

There’s more Cassian Andor (praise the Gods, thank you for this gift), a lot more action and more beautiful scenarios to drool over, and – finally! – a proper look at Alan Tudyk’s character K-2SO, a Rebel-owned imperial enforcer droid.

And SPOILERS!

That dude Darth Vader makes a triumphal return to our lives so, prepare yourselves. Believe me when I say I was not ready at all.

It’s 100% normal to get incredibly emotional by everything Star Wars, right? Because that may or may not be what always happens to me, and this new trailer was no exception.

Are we all ready to go back to a galaxy far, far away for one more adventure before Episode VIII?

Rogue One will be released on December 16.
