A few weeks ago, it was reported that Homeland found its first female president in Elizabeth Marvel (House of Cards),. She won’t be the only new addition to the Homeland cast. Production is set to start the following week
Just in time, TVLine has announced that two new faces (who are also not unfamiliar to the TV audience) will be joining Carrie, Saul, and company in their sixth season.
Hill Harper, who previously had been on CSI: NY for nine years, will be joining Elizabeth Marvel’s team on the show. He will be playing the Chief-Of-Staff to Marvel’s President-elect Keane.
In addition to Harper, Patrick Sabongui (The Flash) will also be joining the cast of the hit TV show. He is going to play a law professor from the City University of New York, who will have close ties to his colleague Carrie. This is, however, not the only detail that will stick out about him. His character is also a strong supporter of the Muslim American Community.
I’m sure it will be interesting to see how those two new characters will contribute to the new season of Homeland. Who knows maybe Sabongui’s character will be Carrie’s new love interest?
Even though, Rupert Friend aka Quinn is going to return to the show. Harper’s character could become the Doug Stamper of the show. At least, Elizabeth Marvel should be familiar on how to deal with one. This time she clearly hasn’t been stopped on her way to become the new president.
The new season of Homeland will take place during the 72 days in-between the presidential election and inauguration of Keane. It will go back to the States. It will be set and shot in New York City.
Homeland will return in January 2017 on Showtime.
