The Justice Society of America is going to rule DC’s Legends of Tomorrow when it returns in the fall, and the roster of who’s who is almost complete.

During San Diego Comic Con, fans were introduced to some of the new members like Vixen and Citizen Steel. It was also during the panel were it was revealed that the Legion of Doom are this season’s new villains, though the lineup for it features some old fan favorite villains. In the Legion of Doom, Malcolm Merlyn, Damien Darhk, Reverse Flash, and Captain Cold will be facing off against the group of heroes. The executive producers gave away a couple of characters (apart from Commander Steel and Vixen) that will be appear on the show in the upcoming season: Dr. Mid-nite, Stargirl and Obsidian.

Stargirl was recently cast (she will be played by Sarah Grey), and now it’s been revealed who will be taking on the role of Obsidian. Veteran actor Lance Henriksen has been cast for the role of Obsidian, which is already raising quite a few eyebrows from DC Comics fans.

You see, Obsidian is typically one of the younger members of the team, the son of the original Green Lantern Alan Scott in the comic-verse. That being said, the producers of the show have stated that their version of the JSA will be giving off major WWII vibes with their versions of the heroes so casting an older actor like Henriksen as Obsidian will definitely set that tone perfectly.

One must also keep in mind that Legends is a show about time traveling so who knows when exactly viewers will be introduced to Obsidian. Vixen is slated to be introduced in the past on the series so perhaps Obsidian will be introduced several decades down the road to the Legends.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return on October 6th at 8/7c on The CW.
