San Diego Comic Con 2016 is finally underway and it is certainly been full of the usual and not-so-usual Comic Con goodness in the form of news from our favourite fandoms. One, in particular,  was the update that Joss Whedon gave about Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog 2.

Personally, I’m excited when Joss talks about any of his upcoming projects because I am a huge fan of his, but I have always been intrigued by Dr.Horrible and the possibility of a sequel. For those who need a refresher about the project, Dr.Horrible Sing-Along Blog, it was a musical web-series which starred three of my favourite people, Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day. The series told the story of Dr. Horrible, played by Neil Patrick Harris, and his attempts to be a part of the Evil League of Evil along with some other villains.  If you haven’t checked out it then I seriously recommend watching it.

Fans have been wanting a sequel for many years. At Joss Whedon’s Spotlight Panel that was presented by  Dark Horse Comics on Friday afternoon, where fans could ask Joss questions about his work, Dr.Horrible came up, and Joss had this to say about it. “If you run the gamut of all the musicals I’ve done, from Doctor Horrible to ‘Once More With Feeling’ you’re done. It’s not a gamut, just a sad little pair in the corner…But yes, Jay-Mo [Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen] and I have been talking about when we need to sit down and do Doctor Horrible 2. But they just had a baby, and they are running a show that I’m executive figurehead of. We want to do that.”

Whedon gave details for the potential sequel and what Dr.Horrible would be up to, saying”It takes place after the events of the first. It’s in the time when Doctor Horrible has basically taken over the world and is really happy. That lasts about three minutes.”

And if you wanted to know what else Joss is thinking of doing, then you’d be in luck as he spoke about an idea he has for another musical project,”There’s another original musical that I’ve been wanting to do as well. I don’t know when it’s coming, but I do need to do that.”

Whatever Whedon does next, I’m sure it will be amazing, just like always. And if you want more updates on Comic Con, then stay tuned as 4YE have got you covered!
