VidCon is upping the ante for this year’s attendees, and even for those who are stuck at home, wishing they were there.
For those at home, there is good news. This year, YouTube is sponsoring a three-day livestream, available at youtube.com/vidcon and live.vidcon.com, for the event to all the fans and creators around the world who won’t be able to attend. That’s right; everyone will be able to enjoy the world’s largest online video conference for fans, creatives and industry professionals.
This is a first for the convention, which is being held in Anaheim during June 23-25. VidCon decided to have a lifestream because it recognized that not all online video enthusiasts have the means or time to travel to Anaheim, California, for the annual conference. With the livestream, now anyone can watch portions of the event.
What exactly will be featured in the lifestream? A lot of amazing content like the key moments from most of VidCon’s nine stages, some exclusive backstage moments and interviews with special featured creators. The livestream will be hosted by respected online creators Kingsley, Lee Newton, and Elliott Morgan.
Viewers will be able to catch the livestream from 9am-6pm PST, June 23-25 at youtube.com/vidcon and live.vidcon.com. Following the conference, the stream will also be available on-demand at youtube.com/vidcon.
Kurt Wilms, Product Lead for YouTube Live, said “We are excited to bring VidCon to all the fans and creators in the world who can’t attend the event. We’ve supported live streaming since 2011 and can’t wait to power the technology behind this important event to our community.”
Viewers of the lifestream also will get a behind-the-scenes look into the event, as well as hear about the show experience first-hand from attendees. Viewers may participate in the conversation using #vidconlive.
Keep on this page as 4YE will be at VidCon and will be bringing you the latest from the convention!
