The Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., was full this weekend with the best possible people – fans. This year the Awesome Con was able to bring us Harry Potter alum Matthew Lewis, who shared some insight into the world of growing up on set and his new movie Me Before You.
Check out the panel below:
Lewis looked in fine shape after filming Me Before You and his calves were on point! He definitely looked like he could run a marathon or eight. Although, I am wondering if he just stepped off a yacht, because he was definitely dressed like it.
Some of the fun tidbits we learned this weekend, is that Lewis hates the way he delivered the line “you and what army?” in Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallow’s Part II. He said it “didn’t ring true to [him],” and continued to cringe every time the line was brought up.
Many fans then questioned Lewis, asking if he had anything in common with his movie counterpart, Neville Longbottom. Lewis emphasized that he was incredibly “forgetful and clumsy,” like Neville and boy can we relate. He also confided in us that if he had a Patronus it would be a panda – cue collective AWWWWW.
He then reminisced about the late and great Alan Rickman, and explained how wonderfully amazing and humble Rickman was.
On a lighter note, if Lewis had to choose an adult to play in the Harry Potter series, he claimed he would have liked to have played Lupin – and we do not blame him – LUPIN IS THE BEST! But, what was probably the best question of the panel involved asking what Disney live action role would Lewis like to play? The answer: Hercules or Copper from the Fox and the Hound.
Could you even imagine?!
So, remember to see Lewis in Me Before You, already in theaters!
