Hulu’s Dimension 404 Casts Lea Michele, Robert Buckley, And Ryan Lee

404

Hulu’s list of original programming is growing by the week, it seems. The newest series making headlines is an anthology series called Dimension 404. The show’s title is a play on the internet’s “404” error code. Variety reports that the purpose of the show is “to evoke that 3 a.m. feeling of wandering onto the weird side of the web.” We’ve all been there.

The show is a series of hour long stand-alone episodes, and we have confirmation that Lea Michele and Robert Buckley will star in an episode that explores the perils of online dating.

Michele, best known for her starring role as Rachel Berry on Glee and as Hester on Scream Queens, will play the newly single Amanda. Amanda is kind, smart, and good-looking, and turns to online dating to help her rebound after a nasty breakup.

Buckley, who currently stars as Major Lilywhite on iZombie, will star as Adam, a match made in online dating heaven for Amanda. Or…not. Adam is kind of a mess, and says the “I-love-you” word way too soon, successfully scaring Amanda away. Their eventual breakup forces Adam to take a long, hard look at his life and his vulnerabilities.

On another note, in a completely separate, unrelated episode, we can look forward to seeing Ryan Lee, most recently seen in Goosebumps and Trophy Wife. Lee’s episode centers around a teenager named Andrew who is a video game addict that has yet to come out as gay. Andrew plays video games to escape the torture his classmates inflict upon him with their bullying, and finds contentment at Ernie’s Arcade. One night Andrew discovers a never-before-played-or-seen game called Polybius, and decides to look further into the “dark and bloody” game. Yikes.

The upcoming Dimension 404 comes from showrunner Dez Dolly, as well as co-creators Will Campos, Dan Johnson, and David Welch. Lionsgate will distribute the series.
