It’s time for Britain to brush up on their American history! Broadway smash hit Hamilton: An American Musical will be making its way across the pond. According to Daily Mail theatre critic Baz Bamigboye, Hamilton will be taking its shot at Victoria Palace Theatre in 2017.

Tickets are apparently due to go on sale in October, so keep your eyes peeled – they’re sure to be snapped up pretty quick.

Over the last year, the Hamilton phenomenon has swept the world, opening the doors of Broadway to people from all backgrounds and walks of life with its diverse multi-ethnic cast and non-traditional hip hop music style.

On what Hamilton’s casting might look like in the future, creator and star Lin Manuel Miranda said to Broadway World: “I’m going to know the answer a little better once we set up these tours and once we set up the London run.

“I think the London cast is also going to look like our cast looks now, it’s going to be as diverse as our cast is now, but there are going to be even more opportunities for southeast Asian and Asian and communities of colour within Europe that should be represented on stage in that level of production.”

Although the Brits might not have as much of a stake in the history being presented, the groundbreaking waves made by this musical will surely create an impact over in the West End too. Hamilton is nominated for a record breaking 16 Tony awards – tune in tomorrow to watch it totally sweep!

As for Miranda, he’s ending his run as Hamilton himself in July. Other projects of his include writing the music for Disney’s Moana, and starring opposite Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns, not to mention working on finally adapting his first Broadway hit In The Heights to a film!

Lucky Londoners will be able to see Hamilton in action in 2017.
