Fans of Carol Danvers have been waiting for years for her big screen debut.
One of the most badass female heroes of the Marvel Universe is going to take center stage at her own solo film in 2019. Still Marvel has been toying with the idea of introducing her in an earlier film, which would probably be Avengers: Infinity War. Either way, we should get a casting announcement on who is playing Carol Danvers as soon as possible.
Also because fans are dyyyying to know. DCEU has already got Wonder Woman already. If we can’t get a Black Widow movie, then at least give us Carol.
According to Variety, Marvel has its eye on Brie Larson to play our favorite Air Force pilot turned superhero.
Larson has come to major prominence with her universally acclaimed performance in Room, for which she has won an Academy Award and BAFTA amongst others for her role.
Admittedly, Larson is not my personal first choice for Carol Danvers. I would go the Natalie Dormer or Gwendolyn Christie route. Still Larson is an amazing actress. If it gives me Carol Danvers, then I want Carol Danvers.
There is no director on board for the solo film.
I am certain that writers Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman are hard at work on the script, which will be as amazing as Captain Marvel herself.
In the comics, Carol Danvers gains her powers when her DNA becomes fused with Captain Mar-Vell, a member of the Kree. She gained powers of super strength, flight, and cosmic bolts.
Now that we may have our Captain Marvel, then I want someone to cast Ms. Marvel aka Kamala Khan.
Please and thank you.
