Donald Glover is a man of many talents: actor, musician, producer, writer.
These are just some of the hat that the man also known as the Childish Gambino wears so very well. With his beloved roles in Community and Magic Mike XXL, his fans absolutely adore him. He has an upcoming series Atlanta which will air in September on FX.
In addition to these many roles, Glover is also a well-known lover of comic book films. A few years ago, there was a push to make a Miles Morales Spider-Man film with Glover as Morales.
The fan support for this was so great that Glover voiced Miles Morales for a couple episodes of Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man.
Well Glover gets to meet Spider-Man again, this time in live-action form.
According to Variety, Glover has been officially casted in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And his role is…
No idea. Glover has a role in the film, but no one knows what that role is exactly. I know people are probably hoping for a version of Miles Morales, but I don’t think that will happen. We don’t even have a hint what kind of role Glover would play or if he has a multi-film deal with Marvel.
So I can’t even speculate if I should be looking at rogues or allies to Spidey or what here.
Spider-Man: Homecoming doesn’t have a set summary or anything yet. It will begin production this summer with a July 2017 release date.
Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man with Marisa Tomei returning as May Parker. Robert Downey Jr will make an appearance as Tony Stark. The rest of the cast includes Zendaya, Michael Keaton, Michael Barbieri, and Kenneth Choi.
