It’s great news for us Gilmore Girls fans as we have finally gotten updates on the title of the revival of the hugely popular series which will be coming to Netflix in the not too distant future.
The show’s title was announced by Lauren Graham while she was interviewed on Ellen where she revealed that the title will be Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which I feel is definitely an improvement on the original working title Gilmore Girls: Seasons.
Personally, I prefer the new title for the series as I feel like the new title explains the concept of the series a lot better. For those who don’t know, there will be four 90-minute episodes in the new series, each representing a season of the year, hence the working title Seasons.
We also finally got to see a poster for the series which has a blue background, that reminds me of the DVD covers of the boxsets. Of course, it has a coffee cup! Because it wouldn’t be Gilmore Girls without a reference to coffee at least somewhere, right? What I love about the poster is that it doesn’t give anything away for the series and it stays loyal to the original series which is what everyone wants to see, right?
There is no official release date for the series yet, as they are still filming, but we do know that it will be on Netflix but it is still unclear whether or not the series will be released altogether so that people can watch the episodes in one go or, will be episodes be released separately.
The show’s creator Amy Sherman-Palladino spoke to TVLine about her preferences fourth series, saying, “My preference would be they would not be released at once, because I feel like there’s going to be anticipation, and I think the die-hard fans would enjoy it more with a little separation…Because the last thing you want is for someone to jump to the last episode and [ruin] it for everybody – which I think would happen, quite frankly, in this day and age of binging. So my preference would be to release them at least a day apart. Let people get a little sunlight and go for a walk around the corner.”
Let us know which way you would like to watch Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. We will keep you posted on any more updates for the series!
