There are only a few episodes left in Arrow‘s season 4 but there are things already in the works for season 5.
As previously mentioned, the pesky flashbacks are still going to be a thing in season 5, with the executive producers sharing “it’s a very good possibility that we’ll finally find out how Oliver got that Bratva tattoo and how he learned to speak Russian.”
Also previously reported was the upgrade that Echo Kellum’s Curtis got from recurring to series regular. Hopefully this means that we may get a glimpse of Mr. Terrific, the comic book character Holt is based on. Curtis became a part of Team Arrow (sort of) as of recently when he helped them take down the Bee Queen recently.
Along with Curtis becoming a regular fixture on the show, Arrow is also adding the series regular role of “James,” an “irrepressibly charming” contemporary of Oliver’s who is described as “a man on a mission” — out as he is to avenge a tragic, violent loss from his own, years-ago past. This casting news was first reported by TVLine.
This new big bad is said to “just as easily shake your hand as your best friend or break your neck as your worst enemy — and you never know which one is coming. Either way, he’s more than capable of having a good time as he does it.”
Does this mean that Oliver will finally take down both Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn in the season finale? Here’s hoping that Darhk at least goes down in flames. He’s definitely up the crazy factor this past season, and Merlyn’s story is not quite done on Arrow just yet.
Arrow airs on Wednesday nights on the CW. You can catch up with our recaps here.
