Today marks the 26th birthday of one Chris Colfer and what a lot he has managed to cram into his young life. A Golden Globe win, Emmy and Grammy nominations, one of TIME’s top 100 most influential people, New York Times bestselling author, screenwriter, producer, and that’s just a few of the accolades that have come his way. They talk about triple threats… well Chris leaves that title in the dust.

While he has accomplished so much already, his 27th year on this earth promises to be another glorious one. In honour of his birthday today, we highlight just a few of the things his fans have to look forward to over the next year.

The Land of Stories 5: An Author’s Odyssey

Back in 2012, Chris released a little children’s book. Inspired by the works of the great fairytale writers, such as the Grimm brothers and Hans Christian Anderson, The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell provided a new take on the classic stories everyone knows created a magical new world for us all to explore. Fast forward four years and a number of Top Children’s Book lists and nail-biting cliffhangers later and the fifth book in the series is set to debut this summer.

In the highly anticipated continuation of the Land of Stories series, Conner learns that the only place to fight the Masked Man’s literary army is inside his own short stories! When the twins and their friends enter worlds crafted from Conner’s imagination, finding allies no one else could have ever dreamed of, the race begins to put an end to the Masked Man’s reign of terror. Can the twins finally restore peace in the fairy tale world?

The Land of Stories 5: An Author’s Odyssey is released July 12.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie

It has been four long years since we have seen Chris on the big screen, in his writing and producing debut, Struck by Lightning. While he has been busy wrapping Glee, writing his books and doing guest spots on TV and stage, fans were overjoyed to hear that Jennifer Saunders had come through on her promise to Chris and that he would be featured in the Absolutely Fabulous movie.

Opening this summer, the film finds Eddie (Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley) in the middle of a media firestorm after they accidentally kill Kate Moss. Fleeing to the south of France (as one does!), the duo hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live out their days enjoying the high life. Chris stars as a hair dresser/media consultant, and while we haven’t caught a glimpse of him in any of the trailers to date, we do have the photo above taken from when he filmed his role back in November last year.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie is released in the UK on July 1, the US on July 22 and Australia on August 4.

Way back in May 2014, it was announced that Chris would be bringing his wit, charm and charisma to the big screen starring as the beloved British comedic actor and playwright, Noel Coward in a biopic of his early life. Directed by up and coming director Joe Stephenson and starring a who’s who of British film (Sir Ian McKellen, Jonathan Pryce and Vanessa Redgrave), production had a number of set backs, but that appears to be in the past with rumours that filming is due to begin in London this July. While it may still be a while before the film is released, and who knows how wide distribution will be, we can look forward to some on set pics no doubt when filming gets underway.

Fans of Chris’ The Land of Stories series know he has a unique, fresh take on the classic fairytales and fairytale characters we all know and love. While TLOS has, to date, told us what happens after “happily ever after”, this new full-colour treasury of tales will bring a decidedly Colfer take to some of our favourite tales.

The synopsis reads as follows:

Dear Reader, you hold in your hands a very special book that contains more than thirty-five classic fairy tales and nursery rhymes, plus your very own survival guide to the Land of Stories. If you notice the pages glowing, followed by an inviting humming noise, don’t be afraid! That is just the book’s magic. But whatever you do, don’t lean too far into the book. You never know where you might end up.

No matter if your book glows or not, there is definitely magic to be found between its covers.

The Land of Stories: A Treasury of Classic Fairy Tales is due out October 18.

Of all his books to be released over the next year, this one has me most intrigued. Back writing in the young adult category, Stranger than Fan Fiction is a story about a young actor from a hit TV show that goes on a roadtrip with some of his fans. No doubt he has amassed quite the collection of stories that could provide… inspiration shall we say, since he began on Glee seven years ago. If some of his holiday snaps from earlier in the year are anything to go by, this could be one wild roadtrip.

Stranger than Fan Fiction is set for a December release.

That is quite a collection of things for fans to get excited about over the next year, and that is just what we currently know about. One thing is for sure, Chris’ 27th year promises to be successful and memorable.

Happy 26th birthday Chris.
