Time to get in gear once more. From the high speed chases and Mini Coopers of The Italian Job, to the high speed chases and the war rig of Mad Max: Fury Road, and now to the high speed chases and super cars of Fast and Furious.
It’s been confirmed that the brilliant Charlize Theron will be playing “the biggest adversary ever” according to the Fast and Furious Facebook page, so she’s following in the footsteps of the likes of Luke Evans and Jason Statham – those are some pretty big guys!
Theron isn’t known for shying away from a fight scene or two, though, so fingers crossed she’ll be in full Furiosa badass mode.
We still have a year to wait for Fast 8, but there’s enough hype to tide us over! Many of the beloved old cast are returning, of course with the exception of Paul Walker, who will be dearly missed.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will be back as everyone’s favourite humongous cop Hobbs, but he certainly hasn’t been idle between Fast films. The man’s been working non-stop, on projects like Disney’s Moana alongside Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, on Baywatch with Zac Efron, on Central Intelligence with Kevin Hart, on his show Ballers, and his new show Boost Unit! The man is literally super-human!
Vin Diesel’s back too, and very excited about the next three films: “one last Trilogy to end the saga,” he called them. Does that mean Theron might stick around for more than one movie?! We certainly hope so. Maybe she’ll put on a British accent and play the long lost sister of the Shaws?
Can you tell we don’t know much about the plot of the upcoming film? Yeah, this is all speculation. Let us know your ideas on the comments below!
Fast 8 is due to his cinemas April 14 2017, and you can catch Theron in The Huntsman: Winter’s War in cinemas April 22 2016.
