The cardinal rule for Game of Thrones is basically that no one is safe. The show kind of prides itself on that, and fans of the hit drama have made it a point to not to get too attached to any characters.
That being said, there are fan favorites, and Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark is definitely one of those. Sansa’s journey on the show has been one of total heartbreak and anguish. Last season, Sansa met one of the cruelest fates known to humanity when she was viciously raped on her wedding night by her husband Ramsay.
That particular storyline caused quite the public outcry (rightfully so too), and even shocked Turner herself when she read the storyline. The question now is whether Sansa will be suffering a crueler on the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.
Many do wonder if their faves are going to make it out of the show alive, especially given the current debate of whether Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow is alive. Turner recently spoke out on the red carpet about Sansa’s fate in the upcoming season and might have accidentally spoiled it.
Speaking to E! News, Turner strongly suggested that Sansa Stark survives the upcoming season.
The actress described going through the script for the new episodes and seeing “death, death, death”, before discovering she was “good for this season”.
Whether Turner’s definition of good means that she’s in one piece or alive remains to be seen. Sansa was last seen jumping to freedom with Theon to escape the abuse from the evil Ramsay. Here’s hoping that she made it to safety or runs into Brienne of Tarth.
Game of Thrones is set to return in April on HBO.
