With just a few more days to go before production begins, the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is working hard at rehearsals. Last week we got the first pics with director James Gunn, brother Sean Gunn (ravager Kraglin), Michael Rooker (Yondu), and Dr. Wesley Von Spears aka James’ inseparable dog.

It has been a while since we last saw the human members of the Guardians together, but that changed today, when James Gunn shared the first pic of the team back together, ready to defend the galaxy.

We have Gamora (Zoe Saldana) giving us her best Shakespearean pose; Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) looking a bit confused; James Gunn pointing at his example of good acting; Drax (Dave Bautista) showing why he is the example of good acting; and Sean Gunn, the stand-in for Rocket Raccoon.

It’s happening: they are together again!

Gunn wrote: “When someone’s screwing up a scene during rehearsals I show them Dave Bautista (Batista) as an example of good acting. With Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, and Sean Gunn. #GotGVol2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is one of the most anticipated Marvel sequels from Phase Three – right after Captain America: Civil War and way before Thor: Ragnarok (sorry, Thor. Guardians win). The return of the Guardians promises a lot of humour, feels, and further exploration of the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Few details about it are known, such as it being a story about fathers, a new member joining the team (quite possibly Mantis), and Nebula coming back. There are many rumours about casting choices and possible main villains.

Do not fear! With production starting this month, an official statement from Marvel with full cast and a few plot details is coming soon.

Keep your eyes open as James Gunn will most likely keep sharing rehearsal pics and then set pics!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled for a May 5th, 2017 release.
