General Organa will see you now. Actress Carrie Fisher is the latest star to be added to the growing list of talent set to appear at Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC) next month. Bonnie Wright from the Harry Potter franchise and voice actor Vic Mignogna (Fullmetal Alchemist and Dragon Ball Z) have also been announced as guests.
The event will be Fisher’s first public appearance since the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens where she reprises her role as Leia Organa. The character is now serving as a General in the Resistance, though she’ll always be royalty to us.
“Overpaid tool” Tim Miller, director of Deadpool will also be on hand at SVCC to give an exclusive behind the scenes look at the film’s visual effects. He will be joined by the VFX artists who helped bring Deadpool to the big screen and they’ll reveal the secrets of their trade.
Other recently added panels include Disney Interactive showcasing their Marvel and Star Wars mobile games and a live and online auction from ScreenUsed where fans can bid on props and wardrobe items from their favorite films. ScreenUsed is one of the leading movie and TV memorabilia companies and the SVCC auction will feature items from Back to the Future, X2: X-Men United, Star Trek, the original Star Wars trilogy, Jurassic Park, and more. For information on how to register for the auction, please see www.screenused.com/auction. Attendees of the Silicon Valley Comic Con will be able to register in person during the first day of the event at the ScreenUsed booth.
