We’re fast approaching one of our favourite nights of the year… Oscar night. While we are still weeks away till the ceremony, the nominations for the 88th Academy Awards were announced this morning (January 14).

The Oscars are part of the biggest night in Hollywood. The parties are epic and not to mention, it’s quite the privilege to win one of those golden guys.

Bleary-eyed from an early West Coast start, the nominations for all 24 categories were announced from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Split over a two-part lives news conference, actor John Krasinski, Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Ang Lee announced the best in filmmaking over the past year.

Was there joy for Joy? Was Carol a-caroling? Is there a chance that this could finally be Leo’s year? Will we see more diversity?

Check out the nominees below.
