This year is going to be a big one for movie enthusiasts, especially those into superheroes and science fiction. Disney is having a busy year with releases for all audiences, but the top titles on its list are Captain America: Civil War and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Civil War will kickstart Marvel’s Phase Three in May, bringing the battle between Captain America and Iron Man to the big screen. Rogue One is a standalone story from the Star Wars universe, following a group of Rebel fighters whose mission is to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Although these are two very different universes, both are products from Walt Disney Studios, which is why the Rogue One trailer will most likely be attached to Captain America: Civil War release – makes sense.

According to MakingStarWars.net, the first teaser trailer will play ahead of Civil War, taking us back to the Star Wars universe just months after the greatness of The Force Awakens. Question is: will it be the same teaser that was shown at last year’s Star Wars Celebration?

Lucky attendees got an exclusive look at the first teaser of Rogue One, which according to their descriptions, shows a planet, a TIE Fighter flying through a forest, and the Death Star, all this with a voiceover of Sir Alec Guinness, the original Obi Wan Kenobi. Rogue One is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, meaning there were no Jedi knights during this time, so it’s interesting and intriguing that they are using Obi Wan’s voice.

As amazing and beautifully nostalgic as this teaser sounds, I hope the new one will include more footage, so we can get something different, and so that those fans who attended Star Wars Celebration will have something new to enjoy.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, and Mads Mikkelsen, will be released on December 16 – a year after The Force Awakens, because life is beautiful and fandom life is an emotionally busy one.

What do you hope to see in the first teaser?
