After months of waiting, the trailer for I Saw The Light has finally been released.
Tom Hiddleston stars in the biopic as the late Hank Williams. In I Saw The Light, Hiddleston plays the late legendary country singer Williams. The biopic, helmed by Marc Abraham, tells the story of Williams’ rise to fame in the country music world, and the toll that very fame took on his personal life. Williams’ life was cut tragically short as the country crooner died at the age of 29 from heart failure. And yes, as the trailer shows, Hiddleston is using his own pipes as he croons many of Williams’ classic songs.
Elizabeth Olsen, Bradley Whitford, David Krumholtz and Cherry Jones co-star alongside Hiddleston in the biopic. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this fall and was originally set to be released in November, but was pushed back to Spring 2016.
For Hiddleston, the biopic marks a change in pace as far as roles for the actor are concerned. To date, aside from his memorable yet small role in Midnight in Paris as F. Scott Fitzgerald (fictionalized), this will be the first time on the big screen that the actor takes on a biopic, which can be a game-changer for him as an actor. Hiddleston is following in the steps of many greats, as far as really getting invested into his role and singing instead of just lip syncing along.
Hiddleston has had quite the busy year so far. He released Crimson Peak in October and also premiered High-rise at the London Film Festival.

The film is scheduled to be released on March 25, 2016, by Sony Pictures Classics.
