The Ghostbusters Take A Spooky Intense Center Stage In New Character Posters

For those excited by the new Ghostbusters reboot, it has been a very prosperous couple of days.

Yesterday, we were given the glory of the first team shot. It definitely promised a whole new level of butt-kicking from some ferociously funny ladies.

Today, however, the characters posters for the film were released.

Yes. They are as glorious as you were hoping for, bringing a surprisingly intense feel to the proceedings. They are mostly black and white with some colors on the equipment highlighted to make things much more intense.

It definitely adds the fun creep factor to the Ghostbuster films, and just serves to make you all the more amped.

I, personally, am so here for it.

The posters were individually released to Time, In Style, Entertainment Weeklyand People.

You, however, can check out the gallery below for them all.

Don’t they look so cool?!

We also learn more about each character’s specialties.

Kristen Wiig’s Erin Gilbert is described as a “particle physicist, academic firebrand [and] spectral warrior”.

Melissa McCarthy’s Abby Gates is described as a ““paranormal researcher, supernatural scientist [and] entity trapper”.

Kate McKinnon’s Jillian Holtzmann is described as a “nuclear engineer, munitions expert, proton wrangler”.

Leslie Jones plays newcomer Patty Tolan, who is described as a “ghost tracker, municipal historian [and] metaphysical commando”.

For sharp-eyed fans, the numbers on McKinnon’s poster hold some significance. The number 2206 is related to Dana (Sigourney Weaver character) from the original film as it was her apartment number when she was overtaken by Zuul.

Between these awesome descriptions of their competent character abilities and already a sly nod to the previous films, Ghostbusters is already meeting my expectations.

The film is scheduled for release on July 2016.
