Strictly Come Dancing: The Quarter Final Song and Dance List is Here!

There’s just six couples left, all of them good, and this week is musicals week. Can this show get any more perfect? Just one dance apiece this week (presumably to make way in the scheduling for the Doctor Who finale) but boy are they good. Let’s take a look:

Anita & Gleb will dance the Argentine Tango to ‘Cell Block Tango’ from Chicago: Good Lord. Where to start? Oh yes. Gleb. Tango. Mean. Moody. This will be perfection. Anita is great at these really fiery, passionate dances and this music is just sensational. We predict a high score for this one.

Georgia & Giovanni will dance the Foxtrot to ‘Beauty And The Beast’ from the show of the same name: Another inspired choice; this will be utterly beautiful. Georgia really is a beauty (we hope she wears the Belle dress!) but lovely Gio is about as far from a beast as you can get. Looking forward to seeing these two in a classic ballroom number again.

Helen & Aljaz will dance the Paso Doble to ‘At The End Of The Day’ from Les Miserables: A great song, but it seems a bit of a strange choice for a Paso, other than the strong beat. Anyway; it will be interesting to see how Helen performs in this strong, fierce dance in comparison to her gentle waltz last week where she could be led by Aljaz.

Jay & Aliona will dance the Rumba to ‘Falling Slowly’ from Once: Excuse us a moment while we roll around on the floor, wailing incoherently. An AMAZING song choice and Jay has the skills needed to pull off this tricky dance. Of course, he has the skills, he can do it, but will he manage to perform on the night? It’s the age-old question for Jay: will nerves stifle him on Saturday? We really hope not!

Katie & Anton will dance the Foxtrot to ‘Maybe This Time’ from Cabaret: Luck is on Katie’s side this week; gifting her and Anton with a ballroom number where they both feel more comfortable. Though she is not quite up to par with the other contestants, this could still be a great for her, even if it does end up being her final week.

Kellie & Kevin will dance the Viennese Waltz to ‘Oom Pah Pah’ from Oliver: Again this seems a strange song choice for an elegant Viennese Waltz, but the beat definitely matches. Kellie will sell this, she always does. The question is, can they avoid a third dance-off?

Whoever ends up in the bottom two this week, the dance-off is going to be brutal. We wouldn’t like to be sitting in those judge’s chairs! See you all on Saturday at 7pm!
