This Is What George Miller’s Wonder Woman Would Have Looked Like

As I’m sure you’re all aware, the man behind the Mad Max franchise, George Miller, could also have helmed DC’s Justice League franchise … and now we’ve got just little peek at what that might have looked like!

Justice League: Mortal was the planned title of the film way back in 2007, with Megan Gale fronting as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince! Maybe the Australian actress isn’t our Wonder Woman, but you’ll certainly recognise her from Mad Max: Fury Road! Miller gave her the role of The Valkyrie – the badass leader of the Vuvalini!

Photographer Mark Rogers shared this promo shot of Gale as Wonder Woman – so this is what we missed out on!

The role of Wonder Woman, of course, went to Fast and Furious star Gal Gadot – a very different casting choice to Gale! Both look equally fantastic in their costumes, with Gale’s sticking more to the traditional comic-book red and blue, and Gadot’s more muted, armoured gear.

Gale isn’t the only Fury Road actor that would have starred in Miller’s comic book debut – Hugh Keays-Byrne, who we all know as the Immortal Joe, was lined up to play the Martian Manhunter!

The rest of the cast was set to be star-studded too! The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’s Armie Hammer would have been Miller’s Batman – a less controversial choice than Ben Affleck? Certainly more unexpected! Rather than Hammer’s U.N.C.L.E. co-star Henry Cavill as Superman, Miller picked D.J. Cotrona, who’s been kicking butt in the El Rey Network’s retelling of Tarantino’s From Dusk Till Dawn.

The ensemble cast would have included Adam Brody as the Flash (instead of Ezra Miller), Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman (instead of the, in my opinion, perfectly cast Jason Momoa), and actor/rapper Common as Green Lantern. Since then, we’ve seen set pictures which imply that Common will actually be playing Lantern’s arch-nemesis The Tattooed Man in Suicide Squad!

You can see Gadot’s Wonder Woman in action in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, in cinemas March 2016, and Suicide Squad is out August 2016!

Here’s the Dawn of Justice trailer to whet your appetites!
