The big Marvel surprise of the year was, undoubtedly, Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man. Scott Lang managed to win our respect and hearts with his incomparable sense of humour without being dumb or relying on cheap jokes. It also introduced us to a new villain: Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket. Sadly, this was his first and last Marvel movie.

But there’s nothing to fear: thanks to the magic of bonus material, we will get more of Darren Cross/Yellowjacket in Ant-Man‘s DVD and Blu-Ray. Although the Blu-Ray won’t be out until December 8, a deleted scene has been released on Entertainment Weekly‘s site. Not only does it feature Darren Cross trying to impress some buyers at Pym Technologies, but there’s also a hidden Iron Man reference, specifically a nod to Iron Man 3.

Pay close attention to the tattoo on one of the potential buyers’ neck. You have seen that symbol before. To be more precise, keep your eyes open at 00:41.

That is the Ten Rings symbol, as seen in Iron Man 3. The Ten Rings is a terrorist organization commanded by the Mandarin, who as you might or might not remember, turned out to be an actor hired by Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) to serve as a cover for his evil, chaotic plans. Killian adopts the mantle of the real Mandarin but a big part of the fandom is not buying that idea.

There is a chance of the real Mandarin being out there and making a big appearance in future films, let’s say, Marvel’s Phase Four. Whatever happens in Infinity War could make way for a new, dangerous villain.

Of course, there’s also the possibility of Marvel just messing with our already fragile hearts and minds (you lie if you say you are not fragile after Captain America: the Winter Soldier. You lie!) and so they are adding these Easter eggs to make us go wild. Because, honestly, it wouldn’t be completely insane that one of two followers of the Mandarin are still out there (and it’s not like you can get rid of a tattoo that easy, am I right?).

Just in case, keep your eyes mega open during the next Marvel films in case there are more Mandarin/Ten Rings clues somewhere.

Ant-Man is now available for digital download and on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Blu-Ray 3D on December 8. This movie will also be collected in the 13-disc box set with the rest of the films from Phase Two, also coming out on December 8.
