December will be a big month for us BBC enthusiasts: our yearly Doctor Who Christmas special is coming our way (it will likely make us cry) and Luther is also coming back with a (short) new season.
Season three of Luther came to an end in 2013 and I don’t know about you, but there has been a void in my heart ever since. But, thanks to the benevolent overlords (aka producers at BBC), Luther is coming back to our TV screens with a two episode season. This is mainly due to Idris Elba and series creator Neil Cross being unsatisfied with the ending.
With just a few more weeks to go before its premiere date, a teaser has been released, showing chief inspector John Luther in all his badass glory. After watching the video I am sitting at the edge of my seat, anxiously waiting for the big day!
John Luther is coming back with a new, dangerous case: a cannibal serial killer is terrorizing the streets of London, and our dear Luther – with the help of a new partner, played by Rose Leslie (Games of Thrones) – will be the man to solve the murders. Of course, Luther hasn’t changed much and his methods are pretty much the same.
It feels great seeing Idris Elba back in Luther mode, kicking major ass.
Mark those calendars: season four of Luther, is coming to our TV screens on December 15 in the UK, and December 17 in the US. Hopefully, this short season will leave everyone satisfied (although we really wouldn’t mind that movie spin-off that has been teased).
